Coordinates: 29 ° 11 ′  S , 115 ° 26 ′  E The Shire of Mingenew is a local government area (LGA) in the Australian state of Western Australia . The area is 1,939 km² and has about 450 inhabitants (2016).

Mingenew is located in the west of the state about 310 kilometers north of the capital Perth . The seat of the Shire Council is in the village of Mingenew, where about 275 inhabitants live (2016).

The Mingenew Council has seven members. The councilors are elected by the residents of the two wards (four from the rural and three from the town ward). The Council Chairman and Shire President are also recruited from among the Councilor.
