Mingle

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The term mingle is a word creation from the English terms "mixed" and "single" and means that you are "officially" single , but at the same time have a temporary relationship-like state. Alternatively, the term “ friends with certain advantages ” is used as a synonym.

Mingle existence is characterized by non-commitment, not too much closeness, and a freedom that does not want to be given up; paired with moments of togetherness that are not very different from those of a "normal" couple: you meet, talk, do something together, go out together and sleep together.

The word creation is attributed to the trend researcher Peter Wippermann . It is therefore a new word from the 2000s and is not used in English with this meaning, there 'to mingle' stands for to mix.

reasons

There are various reasons for this new obligation. The central and most important one is probably the fear of excluding too many other, possibly better, possibilities if you clearly acknowledge a person.

In addition, it simply does not fit, in terms of time and due to the most varied of private or emotional boundary conditions, to be able to meet the obligations of a complete relationship in full.
