Minhotães is a place and a former municipality ( Freguesia ) in the northern Portuguese district of Barcelos .
history
Due to the lack of archaeological finds, not much is known about the original development of the place. It belonged to the medieval community of Grimancelos before becoming a separate community in the 18th century.

Minhotães is a former parish ( freguesia ) in the district ( concelho ) of Barcelos , in the Braga district . On June 30, 2011, the community had 781 inhabitants on an area of 3.6 km².
In the course of the regional reform on September 29, 2013 , the municipality of Minhotães was merged with the municipalities of Grimancelos , Monte de Fralães and Viatodos to form the new municipality of União de Freguesias de Viatodos, Grimancelos, Minhotães e Monte de Fralães . The headquarters of the new municipality became Viatodos.
