The Ministry of the German-speaking Community (also referred to as the Ministry of the DG and abbreviated as MDG ) is the public administration of the German-speaking Community of Belgium (DG) with its headquarters in Eupen . It was set up in the course of the second Belgian state reform from 1984 after the DG had received its own executive branch, the government of the German-speaking community . As the administrative authority, the ministry is subordinate to the government. It prepares government decisions and also takes care of their administrative processing afterwards. The DG's ministry thus implements both the legal norms (“decrees”) passed by the parliament of the German-speaking community and the government resolutions (“decrees”).

The DG Ministry has around 249 employees. In addition to the headquarters in Eupener Gospertstraße, the Ministry has a branch in Sankt Vith ( DG service center ), Brussels ( representation of the German-speaking Community of Belgium in Brussels ) and the joint delegation of the DG, the French Community and the Walloon Region in Berlin .
