The Ministry of Labor and Social Security of the Russian Federation is the Ministry of Social Affairs of Russia and one of the 16 ministries of the Russian government.

Tasks and organization

The ministry deals with labor market policy, pension provision, demographics and the provision of social services. The health sector was spun off in 2012 and placed under its own ministry. Minister is Maxim Topilin. The Ministry is subordinate to the following bodies to fulfill its tasks.

  • Federal Service for Labor and Employment (Rostrud)
  • Pension Fund of the Russian Federation
  • Social Insurance Fund of the Russian Federation
