The Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation ( Russian Министерство транспорта Российской Федерации ) is the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation and one of the 16 ministries of the Russian federal government .
Responsibility and Organization
The ministry is responsible for planning and implementing Russian transport policy, which is a particular challenge in Russia due to the size and sparse population of the country.
The following authorities are subordinate to the Ministry:
- Federal Traffic Control Service (Rostransnadzor)
- Federal Aviation Authority (Rosaviadsia)
- Federal Motorway Service (Rosavtodor)
- Federal Rail Transport Service (Roszheldor)
- Federal Service for Waterways and Shipping (Rosmorrechflot)
