The Turkish Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Services ( Turkish Türkiye Cumhuriyeti Aile, Çalışma ve Sosyal Hizmetler Bakanlığı ) is a Ministry of Turkey. It is responsible for all questions relating to family life, the world of work, social security and social services. The ministry is headquartered at İnönü Bulvarı in Ankara . Acting Minister of Labor and Social Affairs is Zehra Zümrüt Selçuk .
history
The Ministry was established as the Ministry of Labor on June 27, 1945 with the publication of Law No. 4763 and expanded with Law No. 4841 of January 30, 1946. In 1974 the Ministry of Social Security was established and social security for employees and the self-employed was subordinated to the Ministry. In 1983 the Ministry of Labor and that of Social Security were merged.
With the start of the new legislature on July 9, 2019, the ministry was renamed. It used to be called the Ministry of Labor and Social Security.
tasks
The ÇSGB is responsible within the Turkish government for labor market policy , labor law , occupational health and safety and social security.
organization
The ministry is led by a minister who is assisted by a deputy and a state secretary. Four deputy state secretaries head the departments:
- General Directorate for Labor
- General Directorate for External Relations and Services for Employees Abroad
- General Directorate for Occupational Medicine and Safety
- General Directorate for the International Workforce
- Directorate for the European Union and Financial Aid
- Strategic Development Directorate
- Administrative and Financial Department
- Training and research center for work and social security
- Human Resources Department
- Information technology department
- Justice Department
The ministry also reports to the employment offices, the personnel administration of state officials and employees, and the social security funds.
