Mino Lustaghi (born April 10, 1955 in Trivero , Province of Biella ) is an Italian pop singer and songwriter . He won the Sanremo Festival in 1979 .

Career

Lustaghi began his music career as a singer in several local bands, including Il segno dello zodiaco and Bora Bora. In 1978 he began his solo activities, produced by Iva Zanicchi and Ezio Leoni . His debut single was Parigi addio , released on the Ri-Fi label . The following year he entered the race at the 1979 Sanremo Festival , among a field of relatively unknown names, and surprisingly won it with the song Amare . He then released his first album.

After his Sanremo success went largely unnoticed and his label discontinued the production, in 1980 he turned his back on the music industry and moved to England. He did not return to Italy until the late 1980s and began working with Zucchero as a songwriter and background singer . In 2011 the musician's best-of album was released digitally.
