Minty and the moon clock (alternative title: Minty in der Mondzeit ; original title: Moondial ) is a British television series for children, produced and broadcast by the BBC in 1988. The series was written by Helen Cresswell , from whom the book is based.

action

The story is about a young girl who lives with her aunt after her father dies and her mother was seriously injured in a car accident. Minty spends a lot of time on the property of a neighboring property and discovers a sundial there , which enables her to travel back in time to the Victorian era . There she meets the two children Tom and Sarah, whom she has to free from her own unhappy life.

Further information

Minty is highly valued by fans of the BBC children's television series in the 1980s . Many of the photographs in this series were taken on the premises of Belton House in Lincolnshire . The pictures look dreamlike and fantastic.

Minty and the Moon Clock was produced by Paul Stone and directed by Colin Cant . Actors also starred : Valerie Lush as Minty's Aunt Mary, Arthur Hewlett as the mysterious old Mr World and Jacqueline Pearce in a dual role as the vicious Miss Vole in the Victorian era and the ghost hunter Miss Raven in the present.

In Germany , Minty and the moon clock was first broadcast under the title Minty in der Mondzeit in March 1990 on ZDF , most recently in June 1992 on ZDF and in July 1992 on ORF one .

Of Minty and the moon dial one appeared in the UK in 1997 VHS cassette (game time: 112 minutes) in English and in August 2000 a DVD with the same playing time, also in English.

The series was released on May 13, 2016 in a complete box from Pidax-Film on DVD.
