Prepared mirácoli

Mirácoli (a brand name derived from the Italian miracolo “miracle” ) is a semi-finished meal from the Mars Incorporated food company based on spaghetti alla napoletana . Originally, Mirácoli was a Kraft Foods brand ; In 2012 it was sold to Mars . Mirácoli was introduced in Germany in 1961 and has developed into one of the most famous ready meals.

Mirácoli consists of a pack of spaghetti with separately packaged ingredients for the sauce ( tomato paste and a seasoning mixture of salt , onion powder , modified starch , sugar , seasoning , herbs and spices with beetroot powder as coloring). For preparation, the pasta is boiled; the sauce from the tomato paste and the seasoning mixture is made using water (and optionally a little butter or olive oil).

The package contained a bag of grated hard cheese , which was initially called Parmesello , later Pamesello . This is a made-up word that was supposed to be reminiscent of Parmesan , but it was not in the cheese. In the end, no name was given; Even the ingredients list only mentioned cheese (made from milk) . The side dish has been missing since April 2019 so that, according to the manufacturer, "every customer can decide for himself whether he wants to eat cheese with his pasta dish". In addition, the amount of tomato sauce and herb mixture was reduced, but the price remained the same. In May 2019, an online petition for the reintroduction of the Pamesello bag was started on the platform change.org . In January 2020, consumers voted Mirácoli in a vote by the consumer advice center Hamburg as the " sham of the year 2019".

In the meantime, there are various similarly prepared pasta dishes and additional ready-made sauces that only need to be heated under the name Mirácoli .
