Miran ( Chinese  米兰 遗址 , Pinyin Mǐlán yízhǐ ) is an ancient oasis city. It is located in the north of Lop Nor , between Qarqan (Cherchen, Chinese Qiemo) and Dunhuang on the southern route of the Silk Road in Qakilik County (若羌 县) of the Mongolian Autonomous District of Bayingolin in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region of the People's Republic of China .

The ancient oasis town is located in the administrative area of ​​today's village Miran ( Chinese  米兰 村 , Pinyin Mǐlán cūn ), which belongs to the "Production and Development Corps No. 36" (兵团 三 十六 团) of the Qakilik district, about 80 km northeast of Ruoqiang , the seat of the district government.
