Qarqan

Qarqan , also Cherchen or Qiemo ( Chinese  且末 县 , Pinyin Qiěmò ; Uighur چەرچەن Qərqən ), is a district of the Bayingolin Mongolian Autonomous District in the mid-southeast of the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region in the PRC. Its main town is the large community of Qiemo (且末 鎮).

Qarqan is located between Niya and Miran on the southern route of the Silk Road .

The Zaghunluq Tombs ( Chinese  扎 滚 鲁克 古墓 群 , Pinyin Zhāgǔnlǔkè gǔmùqún ) have been on the list of monuments of the People's Republic of China (5-192) since 2001 . Some of the Tarim mummies were found here.
