Mireille Guiliano (born April 14, 1946 in Moyeuvre-Grande ) is a French manager and bestselling author of entertaining guide books in English.

Life

Mireille Guiliano grew up in Rombas . She studied literature, French and English at the Sorbonne Nouvelle and then trained as a translator at the Institut de management et de communication interculturels (ISIT). She then worked at Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin and Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton . In 1984 she was involved in the establishment of the Veuve Clicquot branch in the USA and eventually became President of Clicquot, Inc. and spokesperson for Champagne Veuve Clicquot in the USA.

After her first successes with the French Women books, which she wrote in English, she ended her management duties and has since devoted herself to writing. The first book, French Women Don't Get Fat , was translated into 40 languages, appeared on the New York Times bestseller list in 2004, and sold three million copies internationally by 2015.

The bestseller followed a few books that imitated the title, such as the satire French Cats Don't Get Fat by the American humorist Henry Beard or Japanese Women Don't Get Fat. Secrets of my Mother Tokyo Kitchen by Naomo Moriyana, which became almost as successful as Guiliano's book.
