Miriam Laura Leonardi

Miriam Laura Leonardi (* 1985 in Lörrach ) is a Swiss media and object artist .

Life

Leonardi grew up in the Laufental - Thierstein region . She lived in Paris , Mexico City and Los Angeles before settling in Zurich. She completed her studies at the Zurich University of the Arts in 2015 with a Master of Fine Arts . In the same year, the jury of the Kunsthalle Zürich Production Awards (with Kadist ) recognized her, together with other graduates, for taking part in the Tbilisi 7 Festival in Georgia . Leonardi works with drawing , performance , sculpture and video . She constructs objects with echoes from film and literature . Her interest is in the individual in relation to the surrounding culture. She had her first solo exhibition "Models" with video and audio works in 2014 at the producer gallery Plymouth Rock in Zurich. In 2015 she took part in the Artgenève in the Kunst Halle Sankt Gallen as a "special guest" with objects that she created together with Jacky Poloni and Julia Znoj .
