Mirjam Tola

Mirjam Tola (* before 1991 in Tirana ) is an Albanian opera singer ( soprano ). She has been engaged at the Hamburg State Opera since 2010 .

Life

Mirjam Tola studied singing at the Conservatory in Tirana from 1991 and received her diploma there in 1994. In Tirana she made her operatic debut in the female title role in Bastien and Bastienne . From 1997 she studied at the Salzburg Mozarteum and with Boris Bakow . She reached the finals of several international singing competitions, such as the Verdi Competition in Busseto, the Puccini Competition in New York and in 2001 the Zachary Competition in Los Angeles. At the Vienna State Opera she was awarded the Eberhard Wächter Medal .

From 2004 to 2006 Tola was engaged at the Ljubljana Opera. Guest performances have taken her to the Berlin State Opera , from 2007 to Trieste and the Salzburg Festival . In 2008 Tola made her Hamburg debut in the title role in Tosca , and at the beginning of the 2010/11 season she was permanently engaged in the ensemble of the Hamburg State Opera . Mirjam Tola's repertoire includes: a. the roles of Zaida in Il turco in Italia , Desdemona in Otello , Mimi and Musetta in La Bohème , Adalgisa in Norma , Maddalena in Andrea Chénier and the title role in Suor Angelica .
