Mirko Demic

Mirko Demić (* 1964 in Gornji Klasnić , Banovina , Central Croatia ) is a Serbian writer.

life and work

Demić was born in Gornji Klasnić in the former Yugoslavia in 1964 . In Belgrade he studied at the military academy . His first volume of short stories was published in 1990. His book Molski akordi was awarded the 2008 Ivo Andrić Prize. The story from this volume "The pink mark" was translated into German and appeared in the magazine "WortMosaik" in 2010. In 2010, he received the Dejan Medaković Prize for the novel Trezvenjaci na pijanoj lađi .

Mirko Demić has lived in Kragujevac , Serbia since 1995 as a writer and publicist . His work has been translated into Polish and German. He is the editor of the literary magazine "Koraci".
