Andrić Prize

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Andrić Prize ( Andrićeva nagrada ) is a Serbian literary prize awarded annually by the Belgrade Ivo Andrić Foundation. The writer Ivo Andrić suggested the award of the prize in his will. Since 1975 - the year of death of the writer - this has been given to the author of a newly published story, a short story or a cycle in Serbian that "corresponds to the dignity of Andrić's work" on the birthday of the namesake. In 2010, the jury found that no submission could meet this requirement and decided not to award it. The award is currently endowed with 100,000 dinars .
