history

After the 2004/05 season, the two men's teams of the clubs Kiekko-Oulu and Laser HT , both of which played in the Suomi-sarja - the third division - merged to form Kiekko-Laser. However, the junior teams of the clubs remained with their parent clubs.

In 2010 the club won the Suomi-sarja championship and was allowed to take part in the Mestis relegation games. In the decisive game for promotion, K-Laser defeated Rovaniemen Kiekko 4: 2 and thus rose to the Mestis. In December 2011, the club filed for bankruptcy and stopped playing. The entire squad including the coaching team was released without notice.

In the 2013/14 season, the men's team returned to play and initially took part in the III-divisioona. For the 2014/15 season, Kiekko-Laser was promoted to Division II. Before the 2016/17 season, the team decided to return to the name Laser HT and ended their collaboration with the Kiekko-Laser junior teams.
