Tatu Backman (born December 14, 1979 in Pyhäjoki ) is a Finnish ice hockey player who was most recently under contract with Kiekko-Laser in the Mestis .

Career

Tatu Backman began his career as a hockey player in the Mestis , the second highest division in Finland, in which he was active from 2000 to 2005 for KooKoo Kouvola , Hermes Kokkola and Sport Vaasa . The attacker then moved to the Danish AL-Bank Ligaen , where he played for the Herlev Hornets for two years and for the Frederikshavn White Hawks for one season . Before the 2008/09 season Backman returned to Finland, where he received a contract with the reigning Finnish champions Kärpät Oulu in the SM-liiga and was runner-up at the end of the season, although he was not used in the playoffs.

He spent the 2009/10 season at Kiekko-Laser in the Mestis .
