Career

Toni Kirén began his career as a hockey player with the Pelicans Lahti , for which he was active in the SM-liiga from 2003 to 2005 . The defender then moved to Haukat Järvenpää in the second-class Mestis . After only one season he joined their league rivals HeKi Heinola . He was then committed before the 2007/08 season by the first division club HPK Hämeenlinna , for which he only played three games before he received a contract with Kärpät Oulu , with whom he was Finnish champion at the end of the season .

In 2010 he was signed by the newly promoted Kiekko-Laser from Mestis , where he acts as team captain.
