Heinolan Peliitat is a Finnish ice hockey club from Heinola, founded in 1983 . The team plays in the Mestis and plays their home games in the Versowood Areena .
history
The association was founded in 1983 as Heinolan Peliitat. Six years later, the team changed its name to Heinolan Kiekko (HeKi) before reverting to the original name in 2011. The team started playing in the I-divisioona , the second highest Finnish division at the time , in the 1983/84 season . In this, the team was able to establish itself before they relegated bottom of the table in the 1986/87 season. After the direct resurgence, the team rose again in the 1988/89 season in the third class II-divisioona.
From the 2000/01 season HeKi took part in the new third division, the Suomi-sarja . Since 2006, the team played continuously in the second-rate Mestis .
