Miro Zahra , bourgeois: Miroslava Zahradníčková (* 1960 in Czechoslovakia ) is a Czech painter and curator .

life and work

Miro Zahra graduated from high school in Prague in 1979. She received her artistic training during a course of study at the Berlin-Weißensee School of Art between 1980 and 1985. While still studying, she moved to Plüschow in Mecklenburg. From 1990 to 1993 she worked on the construction of the Künstlerhaus Schloss Plüschow, which she designed with her husband Udo Rathke. Between 1997 and 2002 and 2005 to 2009 she was in charge of the Künstlerhaus. From 2012 to 2014 she was chairwoman of the Mecklenburg and Western Pomerania Artists' Association. As such, she worked and was involved in the event "Art Today", an art event with art connoisseurs and lovers as a target group. During these years she was also a member of the advisory board for art in construction in the Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania Ministry of Finance and vice-chair of the Association of Art Museums, Galleries and Art Associations Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. Between 2015 and 2014 Zahra took over the management of the Künstlerhaus Schloss Plüschow again . In 2019, Miro Zahra was nominated for the local election for the Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen party in northwest Mecklenburg using her civil and artist name .

Zahra uses a lot of oil paint in her works. She is particularly interested in the color, structure and the process of creating images. The preferred color in her oil painting is red.

    • A labyrinth of boulders (with Anna Jacquemart), created as part of the sculpture symposium in the Müritz National Park in collaboration with Anna Jacquemart
    • LOCUS STANDI, a planting job in the Wiepersdorfer forest
  • 1996: "Spes" sculpture in the outdoor area, created during the sculpture symposium in Weitendorf near Wismar
  • 1996: Floor sculpture in the courtyard of the grammar school at Tannenberg (Grevesmühlen), competition
