Miroslav Červenka

Miroslav Červenka (born November 5, 1932 in Prague , † November 20, 2005 in Prague) was a Czech poet, translator and literary scholar.

Life

He studied Czech language and literature at the Philosophical Faculty in Prague , then worked at the Institute for Czech Literature and wrote for the magazine Květen (Mai).

After 1968 he was no longer allowed to publish and he was also prohibited from studying science. In 1975 he became a technical librarian in the Pragoprojekt. His work has been self-published, including in the magazine Obsah (content) and published abroad. In 1990 he returned to the Institute of Czech Literature of the Academy of Sciences, where he had worked before 1968, and became vice-chairman of the re-established Prague linguists' circle . He also taught Czech literature at the Philosophical Faculty of Charles University in Prague.

In addition to his own literary, scientific and poetic publications, he has translated from Mongolian , Russian , Estonian and Ukrainian .
