Miroslav Žižka

Miroslav Žižka (born September 16, 1964 in Chomutov ) is a Czech officer . He was promoted to major general on October 28, 2011 .

Žižka attended the Army College in Vyškov from 1982 to 1986 (Vysoká vojenská škola pozemního vojska ve Vyškově).

He began his military career as leader of a motorized rifle platoon . After he was promoted to commander of the reconnaissance battalion of a mechanized brigade , he was used for the first time in the SFOR . From January to December 1997 he was Chief of Staff of the 6th Mechanized Battalion of the Czech Contingent, which was part of the British-led Multinational South-West Division with headquarters in Banja Luka . His second assignment lasted from October 2001 to April 2002; During this time he acted as the first liaison officer of the SFOR commander at the station of the Stabilization Force Support Command in Zagreb . From 2002 to 2005 he was assistant to the head of operations management at the Allied Joint Force Command Brunssum . In 2006 he became Head of Combat Intelligence and Electronic Warfare at the Ministry of Defense , before being appointed Deputy Commander in Chief of the Land Forces on April 1, 2008 . Since January 1, 2010, Žižka has been First Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Czech Republic .

Žižka is married and has a daughter and a son.
