Misa Tango

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Misa Tango is a mass by the Argentine-Italian composer Luis Bacalov (1933-2017) for mezzo-soprano , baritone , bandoneon , choir and orchestra. The fair was founded in 1997.

Conception

The Misa Tango consists of the parts

  • Kyrie ( ¡Señor, ten piedad de nosotros! )

Based on the wish of the composer, who was himself of a Jewish faith , "to enable more people to participate who do not have the same faith in every respect, and therefore to emphasize the features of God in the Mass that are valid for Christians, Jews and Muslims" , the standard text of the ordinarium , which the composer used in the Spanish version, has been shortened considerably. All references to Christ - with the exception of the Lamb of God (Latin: Agnus Dei ) - have been deleted.

The Credo, the third and usually longest part of the sung mass, was reduced to the first stanza and part of the second: " Yo creo en un único Dios todo poderoso, Creador del cielo y de la tierra. »(German:“ I believe in one God, the Almighty Father, Creator of heaven and earth ”) plus“ Amen ”at the end.
