Work description

The text of the mass is made up of the traditional mass ordinary in Latin:

  • Kyrie
  • Gloria
  • Creed
  • Sanctus
  • Benedictus
  • Agnus Dei

In the work, the composer, in his own words, combines his most important musical experiences as a choir director and tango arranger and interpreter and combines stylistic elements from different cultures: melodically and rhythmically, the work is indebted to Tango Nuevo and the model of Astor Piazzolla , but at the same time makes use of many aspects of the formal language of the church music tradition. The work begins and ends with textbook-like fugues in Kyrie and in the section “Dona nobis pacem” of Agnus Dei .
