The Misery Bay (from English misery , Kummer, Elend, Trübsal ' ) is a shallow bay in the west of the Barff Peninsula on the north coast of South Georgia in the South Atlantic . It is located south of the Sandebugten on the east bank of the Cumberland East Bay .
British Antarctic Survey staff stationed at King Edward Point visit the bay regularly. They named them after their appearance.
