The Sandebugten (Norwegian for sandy bay ) is a bay on the Barff Peninsula in northern South Georgia . It is located on the east bank of the Cumberland East Bay or at the western end of the Reindeer Valley .
The name of the bay, the name of which probably goes back to Norwegian whalers, was first recorded on a map of the British Admiralty in 1929 .
