Mission Odyssey is a 26-part animated series that deals with the adventures of the ancient Greek hero Odysseus . The series is a production by BAF Berliner Animation Film GmbH & Co. Produktions GmbH and Marathon Filmproduktion GmbH in co-production with M6. Character design was created by David Gilson. The rights were taken over in 2009 by Your Family Entertainment AG , which is now the unlimited rights holder including the ancillary rights for almost all countries. The German first broadcast took place on February 22, 2008 on KIKA.

Starting with the victory over Troy , Odysseus' journey home becomes a true adventure. The sea god Poseidon has made a bet with Athena , according to which Odysseus and his team, consisting of the horned mythical creature Titan, Zephyr, the son of a wind god, the clairvoyant Nisa, the clumsy Philo, and the greedy navigator Dates, as well as Diomedes and a clever owl will never make it home on their own. To ensure this, Poseidon mixes in a little in every episode of the series, but Athene reminds Poseidon that direct intervention is against her betting rules.
The series deals with the most important stations of Homer's Odyssey , but in a simplified and child-friendly way. Occasionally, frameworks from other Greek sagas are also used.
