The Mistake Crag (English for mistake rock ) is a 90 m high and slightly curved rock outcrop on the south coast of King George Island in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . It rises north of the Cinder Spur and immediately west of a previously unnamed glacier .
The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it so in 1998 because of the originally erroneous assumption that the sedimentary rock had the same geological structure as the Dyke Cinder Spur.
