Mithridates I. (Commagene)
Mithridates I. Kallinikos , ancient Greek ο Μιθριδάτης Καλλίνικος , († 70 BC ) was a king of Armenian- Orontod descent who lived between the 2nd and 1st centuries BC. Lived. Mithridates was a son and successor of the king of Commagene Samos II. Before he gave him 109 BC. After succeeding to the throne, Mithridates married the Syrian-Greek princess Laodike Thea Philadelphos as part of a peace agreement. Mithridates also adopted Greek culture . Laodike gave birth to the son and later King Antiochus I. Mithridates died in 70 BC. And Antiochus was his successor. He built the Hierothesion for him in Arsameia on Nymphaios .
