The Mittagspitze , in the official map Mittagsspitz , is the north-eastern corner of the pan woods , the long ridge that stretches eastwards from the little thumb . The Mittagspitze is 1682 m high. The midday peak takes its name from the position of the sun because the sun in Hinterstein is vertically above the midday peak at midday.
No marked hiking trails lead to the Mittagspitze. It can be climbed in the course of crossing the pan woods. This climb requires climbing experience.
