The reports of the research and working group "History of the BND" are an irregular information sheet of the Federal Intelligence Service on the history of the development of the Federal German foreign intelligence service. Responsible editor is the head of the research and working group, Bodo Hechelhammer .

In 2010, the BND set up an internal research and working group “History of the BND”, which has been working as the historical office within the authority since 2016. Part of this work is the publication of your own research results, primarily on the basis of documents.

Others
MFGBND No. 9 differs from other editions. The historians of intelligence services that were formerly operating against each other worked in close cooperation on a joint secret service history that was published in both German and Czech, in Berlin and Prague. A joint project of the historians of the Czech foreign intelligence service Úrad Ceske Republiky pro Zahranicni Styky a Informace (Office of the Czech Republic for Foreign Relations and Information, ÚZSI) and those of the BND.
