The Mixon Rocks are ledges in East Antarctica Victoria Land . In the Allan Hills they rise 4 km west of the Gadarene Ridge .
Scientists from the New Zealand Antarctic Research Program explored it as part of a 1964 expedition to the Allan Hills. They named it after Lieutenant William A. Mixon of the United States Navy , who, as the medical officer in charge at McMurdo Station , had treated an injured member of the expedition.
