Miyuki "Shin" Takahashi ( Japanese高橋 み ゆ き, Takahashi Miyuki ; born December 25, 1978 in Yamagata ) is a Japanese volleyball player .

Career

Takahashi played with the NEC Red Rockets since 1997 and won the national championship title in 2000. At the 2002 World Cup in Germany, the outside attacker was eliminated with the Japanese national team after the preliminary round. A year later she was again Japanese champion and with the national team second in the Asian Cup. In 2004 she took part in the Olympic Games in Athens and reached fifth place with the quarter-finals. In 2005 Takahashi won the national title for the third time and reached third place with Japan at the Asian Cup. She then moved to Italy to Minetti Infoplus Vicenza . The Japanese women finished sixth in the 2006 World Cup in their own country. In 2007 Takahashi won the Asian Cup with the national team and was named "Most Valuable Player ( MVP )" of the tournament. She then returned to the NEC Red Rockets. In 2008 she played in Beijing for the second time at the Olympic tournament and was again fifth. After retiring in 2009, Takahashi made a comeback at Toyota Auto Body Queenseis in the 2011/12 season.
