Mladen Kolobarić

Mladen Kolobarić (born June 18, 1933 in Mostar ) is a painter or graphic artist and designer from Bosnia and Herzegovina .

Life

Kolobarić received his education at the Sarajevo Art High School and the Academy of Applied Arts in Belgrade (diploma 1959). From 1959 to 1974 he was professor at the Sarajevo Art High School and from 1974 to 2004 professor and head of the graphic design department at the Academy of Fine Arts in Sarajevo.

Kolobarić was the Art Director of the Winter Olympic Games in Sarajevo in 1984.

He was head of the so-called Westendorp Commission and thus the creator of the national flag of Bosnia and Herzegovina . Carlos Westendorp was the High Representative for Bosnia and Herzegovina from 1997 to 1999 .

The first draft for the flag of Bosnia and Herzegovina was created by Kolobarić in 1998

During his entire professional career, Mladen Kolobarić had numerous exhibitions in the former Yugoslavia. He illustrated many books and newspapers and received several state awards. Mladen Kolobarić is currently a member of the Association of Applied Arts and Design in Bosnia and Herzegovina .
