Mobulu Futsal University of Bern (short Mobulu , proper spelling Mobulu Futsal UNI Bern ) is a Futsal -Verein from the city Bern . The club colors are burgundy / black. The club was founded on August 24, 2006 as a sports club of the University of Bern and is one of the oldest futsal clubs in Switzerland with the largest number of members . The club is a member of the Bern / Jura Football Association. The club name goes back to the former professional soccer player Mobulu M'Futi .
Club history
The history of the association goes back to the annual futsal tournaments at the University of Bern. A team called FC Mobulu M'Futi Sports has been here since 2001 . The team has been taking part in the Swiss Futsal University Championship since 2005 under the name Mobulu Futsal Uni Bern . With the start of the association-organized league operations and the establishment of the Futsal championship by the SFV in 2006, the university team was also institutionalized. On August 24, 2006 the club was officially founded and accepted into the SFV regional association Bern / Jura under the current name Mobulu Futsal Uni Bern . In 2010 the game operation was supplemented by the second team. Since then, the team structure has been steadily expanded to a total of 5 teams today.
Teams
The first men's team has played in the highest Swiss futsal league ( Premier League ) without interruption since it was founded . The team became Swiss champions in the 2014/2015 season. In 2015 Mobulu hosted and participated in the UEFA Futsal Cup . The home games are played by the first men's team in the hall of the Center for Sport and Sport Science at the University of Bern in Bern-Neufeld .
In addition to the first men's team, four other teams take part in league and tournament operations. The 2nd and 3rd men's teams play in the National League B (Bern / Jura group). The 4th men's team plays in the 1st division (Bern / Friborg group). A women's futsal team has existed since 2014. Since the SFV has not yet offered a women's futsal league, the team can only take part in tournaments, including the Futsal Masters, which was held in Bern in 2015.
Club organization
The club is currently managed by David Schneeberger (President) and Alexander Lötscher (Vice President). The sports operation is divided into the areas of competitive and popular sports and is managed by Marc André Isler.
