structure

The first season 2006/07 started with one league, the National League A. This consisted of two groups with nine teams. In the following season, a second division emerged, the National League B. This league system lasted until the 2011/12 season . Then a nationwide league above National League A was founded, the “Swiss Futsal Premier League”, which consisted of eight teams. Four teams got into the playoffs and played the Swiss champions.

Two years later, in the 2014/15 season , the SFPL was increased to ten teams. No play-offs were played in 2018/19 , the league leader after 18 regular match days was crowned champion.

From the 2019/20 season , the league system was restructured again. The "Swiss Futsal Premier League" remained as before, but eight teams should have participated in the playoffs. However, the season did not end due to the COVID-19 pandemic . The national league A took place as the "Swiss Futsal Second League" and the national league B was carried out by the regions as the first league.
