The 2nd Swiss Futsal Championship began on November 25, 2007 and ended on February 25, 2008.
Futsal Swiss champions became the Futsal Löwen Zürich, back then as the futsal division of the soccer club FC Seefeld Zürich . That was the first title for the people of Zurich. The reigning champions, Uni Futsal Team Bulle, failed in the semifinals. In contrast to the previous season, 13 teams took part in the NLA this year, six of which were divided into the western group and the other seven to the eastern group. In order to increase the groups to eight teams each, there were no direct relegations, only the bottom of the group in the east had to complete a barrage round.
The number of teams was increased from 18 to 28, with the Uni Futsal Team Bulle being the first team to have a second substitute.
Ajas Kuljici from FC Schaffhausen Futsal was the top scorer with 22 goals.
Each team played one game against each group opponent, so that the teams in Group West had five and the teams in Group East had six games. The best four teams qualified for the quarter-finals, while the last placed in the group East had to fight in a barrage against the 2nd of the NLB-East group to keep up. For the fifth and sixth placed teams, the season was over after the main round. The group West also played an extra round, each victory resulted in a point that flowed into the final ranking.
Participants in National League A - 2007/08 season
The newly introduced NLB consisted of 15 teams, seven teams played in the western group, eight in the eastern group. As in the NLA, a single round was completed, resulting in six or seven games per team.
From the group west the group winner rose directly to the NLA, from the group east the first two teams. The group runner-up in the eastern group played against the bottom group of the NLA eastern group for promotion or relegation. The two NLB group winners also played a final game for the B title.
