Moeck Musikinstrumenten + Verlag is a German manufacturer of recorders and historical wind instruments as well as a music publisher.

history

The company was founded in 1930 by Hermann Johannes Moeck as Hermann Moeck Verlag oHG in Celle . Initially, recorders by Oskar Schlosser and Rudolf Otto were sold. In 1931 the magazine Der Blockflötenspiegel published by Moeck appeared for the first time and from 1932 the sheet music edition of the magazine for game music . In 1960, the son Hermann Alexander Moeck , who had also published works of new music since 1956, took over the company, which was renamed Moeck Verlag + Instrumentenwerk in 1966 .

The company's current partner, Sabine Haase-Moeck, is the granddaughter of the company's founder.

Historical instruments

The product range was supplemented by historical wind instruments such as crooked horns , rauschpfeifen , shawms , dulcians , transverse flutes and baroque oboes .

In 2008, the company announced that it would stop manufacturing historical instruments by the end of the year.

Flute making

Until 1945, the company initially made instruments from semi-finished products obtained from Zwota and Markneukirchen . The instruments have been manufactured entirely in Celle since 1945. The company manufactures recorders from school instruments to handcrafted soloist models. All positions from the sopranino to the subbass are made.

publishing company

The publisher specializes in the publication of recorder music from all eras. In addition, specialist books on the subject of the recorder are published. Sound carriers are also part of the range.
