Mohamed Achergui

Mohamed Achergui ( Arabic محمد أشركي; * March 14, 1949 in Nador , Nador Province ) is a Moroccan lawyer who was President of the Constitutional Court (Conseil constitutionnel) from 2008 to 2017 .

Life

After attending school, Mohamed Achergui began studying literature , which he completed with a Diplôme d'études approfondies (DEA). He completed another degree in political science in 1981 with a Diplôme d'études supérieures spécialisées (DESS). He completed a subsequent postgraduate study in law in 1985 with a doctorate in public law. Between 1989 and 1995 he was an advisor to the Ministry of Finance and at the same time professor and dean of the Faculty of Law at Hassan II Ain Chok University in Casablanca from 1990 to 1995 . After he was between 1995 and 2001 Special Advisor to the Director General of the company founded in 1920 phosphate industrial company Office Chérifien des Phosphates .

After Achergui was Attorney General (Procureur général du Roi) at the Court of Auditors (Cour des comptes) between 2001 and 2008 , he was on July 8, 2008 by King Mohammed VI. appointed President of the Constitutional Court (Conseil constitutionnel) . He held this office until 2017. Among other things, he received the prize for human and social sciences.
