Mohamed Ashrafu (born October 15, 1990 in Pottuvil ) is a Sri Lankan athlete who specializes in sprinting .

Athletic career

Mohamed Ashrafu gained his first international experience at the 2015 Military World Games in Mungyeong , South Korea , where he reached the semi-finals over 100 meters and won the bronze medal with the Sri Lankan 4 x 100 meter relay. In 2016 he won the bronze medal over 100 meters and gold with the relay at the South Asian Games in Guwahati . In 2017 he took part in the Asian Championships in Bhubaneswar and finished fourth in the relay in 39.69 s. In 2018 he took part in the Commonwealth Games in the Australian Gold Coast for the first time and finished sixth with the Sri Lankan relay with a new national record of 39.08 s.
