Mohamed Kamal Fadel

Mohamed Kamal Fadel ( Arabic محمد فاضل كمال; ) is a diplomat from the Sahara Democratic Arab Republic (SADR).

Career

Fadel received a Master of Arts degree in International Relations from the University of Kent .

Fadel has worked as a diplomat for the Sahara Democratic Arab Republic since 1986. He initially worked in Algeria , India and Iran . From 1995 to 1999, Fadel worked in the United Kingdom and Ireland as Deputy Representative for the Polisario .

Since 1999 Fadel has been the Polisario's representative in Sydney for Australia , New Zealand and the South Pacific region. From April 2009 he was also the first ambassador of the Western Sahara to East Timor . Since 2010 there is also an embassy of the Democratic Arab Republic of the Sahara in East Timor's capital Dili . The Southeast Asian state sees similarities in its own history and aspirations for independence with the Democratic Arab Republic of the Sahara. He held the office until June 2010 and was replaced in Dili by Mohamed Salama Badi . But Fadel remained a representative for Australia and New Zealand.
