Mohammad Aqil Nadeem

Mohammad Aqil Nadeem (* 1958 ) is a Pakistani diplomat .

Career

Nadeem joined the Pakistani Foreign Service in 1984. In the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, he worked as Section Officer (1984–1987 and 1991–1993), Director (1999 and 2004–2005) and Director General (December 2013– July 2015). Abroad, he served in London (1988–1990), Athens (1993–1996), Dushanbe (1996–1997), Jakarta (1998) and as Consul General of Pakistan in Houston (2007–2013). From 1999 to 2004 Nadeem was seconded to the United Nations Interim Administration for East Timor (UNTAET).

From 2016 to 2018 Nadeem was Pakistani Ambassador to Indonesia , East Timor and ASEAN based in Jakarta .

Nadeem holds a Masters degree in International Relations. He is married and has two sons.
