The building is located on the market in Weißenfels. It got its present appearance in the 18th century and housed the Mohren pharmacy until the 1990s. The facade is adorned with a representation of a stereotypical African with staring eyes, curly hair, accentuated lips and colorful but primitive jewelry and still bears the inscription Mohren Apotheke , even if there is no pharmacy there today. The building was renovated from 2014 to 2016 and is now home to the city information center and several apartments.

When naming the pharmacy, reference was made to the diocese saint of the Archdiocese of Magdeburg , Saint Mauritius . For a long time the words Mauritius, Moritz and Mohr were indistinguishable from one another.
