Moinina Fofana

Moinina Fofana (* 1950 in Nongoba Bullom - Chiefdom ) is a former Sierra Leonean military commander and was in the 1990s, leading military of paramilitary units Kamajors the Civil Defense Forces (CDF) in Sierra Leone Civil War .

Fofana had to appear before the Special Court for Sierra Leone for human rights violations and war crimes . His trial, along with those of Samuel Hinga Norman and Allieu Kondewa, began on June 3, 2004. On August 2, 2007, Fofana and Kondewa were convicted of war crimes and murder and other crimes. Fofana received a six-year prison sentence on October 9, 2007. In 2008, on appeal, the sentence was increased to 15 years to serve in Mpanga Prison in Rwanda . On March 12, 2015, he was brought to his home in Bo to serve the remainder of his sentence .
