Moisés Dueñas
Moisés Dueñas Nevado (born May 10, 1981 in Salamanca ) is a Spanish cyclist .
Moisés Dueñas won a stage at the Circuito Montañés in 2002. He only became professional in 2004 with the Spanish cycling team Relax-Bodysol . In 2005 he achieved top ten placements in the final classification of the Tour of Asturias, Tour of Burgos and the Gran Premio de Llodio . Dueñas has been driving for the French Professional Continental Team Agritubel since 2006 . He took part in the Tour de France through a wildcard from his team and finished it in 61st place overall. In the junior ranking, this resulted in fifth place behind Damiano Cunego . In September he was able to win the Tour de l'Avenir . He took over the leadership jersey after his victory on the 6th stage and did not give it up until the end of the ten-stage race.
At the Tour de France 2008 he was confronted with doping allegations on the morning of the eleventh stage on July 16, 2008 - in 19th place overall - and questioned by the French police. The blood doping agent EPO was detected in his A-sample from the fourth stage . A subsequent search of his hotel room found syringes, needles and transfusion bags. The B sample confirmed the positive test result. His team Barloworld suspended him from the team with immediate effect due to the positive A-sample and referred to an individual act within the team in order to prevent the exclusion of the entire team from the race, which would have occurred if the team had systematic doping proven would have been. Four days later, Dueñas admitted to having doped, after which he was banned for a year.
