The Molkenbach rises on the "rearmost Seiterswiese" on the eastern edge of Darmstadt. The stream then flows in a north-westerly direction through a meadow area and then through an allotment garden. Then the Molkenbach crosses under the “Dieburger Straße”. To the north of “Dieburger Straße”, the stream flows through another allotment area. Then the Molkenbach crosses under the Odenwaldbahn . To the west of the railway line, the stream flows through the area of the “Karlshof student dormitory”. To the northeast of the Oetinger Villa it flows into the Darmstadt sewer system.
