Molly Rhone
Molly May Rhone (* in Manchester , Jamaica ) is a Jamaican sports official and former netball player. She has been President of the International Federation of Netball Associations (IFNA) since 2003.
Life
Rhone attended Knox Community College in Spaldings, Manchester, and started playing netball at that time. She was also active in the athletics college team. She studied information technology (IT) at the Ryerson Polytechnical Institute in Toronto (Canada) and graduated in 1969 with a diploma . On her return to Jamaica, she worked as IT director for Air Jamaica .
She played international games as a member of Jamaican U-21, U-23 and senior national netball teams, including the 1975 World Netball Championships in New Zealand.
She was elected Vice President of the Jamaica Netball Association (JNA) in 1991, and President two years later. She ran the JNA until 2003 when Jamaica hosted the Netball World Championships. In 2003 she was elected President of the International Federation of Netball Associations. She is also a member of the Jamaican Anti-Doping Commission (JADCO) and the National Olympic Committee.
Rhone is widowed and has two children.
