Momodou Alieu Bah

Momodou Alieu Bah , short as MA Bah, (* 20th century) is a general and politician in the West African state of Gambia .

Life

Bah joined the Gambia National Army (GNA). Following the attempted coup in March 2006 against President Yahya Jammeh , Lieutenant Bah was arrested and sentenced to 25 years in prison for participating. He was pardoned in 2009 after testifying as a witness at Lang Tombong Tamba’s trial . He was reinstated in the Gambian Armed Forces , where he became Director of Finance. Bah was promoted to Colonel in September 2015. In September 2016, Interior Minister Ousman Sonko resigned and Jammeh appointed Bah as Sonko's successor as Interior Minister. As a result of the crisis following the presidential elections in Gambia in 2016 , Bah resigned from the Jammeh cabinet as interior minister on January 18, 2017. On January 27, Brigadier General Bah was revealed to have been reappointed Director of Finance, but he was later removed from the armed forces by President Adama Barrow on February 27, 2017.

Bah left the Alliance for Patriotic Reorientation and Construction in September 2018 .
